About Eric Willeke
I've spent the last 15 years helping leaders (and their companies) overcome challenges while achieving agility. The same patterns repeat themselves in company after company, and I want to help leaders avoid the wasted time, energy, and money from encounter common pitfalls and impediments to progress. Your time is valuable, and I want to accelerate your learning.
You can read more about my professional history as a developer, architect, coach, agile transformation leader, and consultant on LinkedIn.
I'm also a cat lover and I love capturing photos all over the world. The majority of images used on this site (and in the courseware) are from my personal library.
Activities
In early 2024 I returned from a year-long sabbatical and embarked on a new phase in my career. My focus is on leaders who are striving to create better companies in service to the triple bottom line: profit, people, and planet. I serve these leaders with mentoring, education, and guidance focused on implementing large-scale agility in human-centric, effective ways. I consider myself successful when companies find agility to be enjoyable, low-stress, and more effective in delivering results than previous ways of working.
My energy is currently spread across three broad areas:
- Advising portfolio executives, leaders, and coaches on Shaping Product PortfoliosÂ
- Collecting and exposing 20-years of content creation in useful ways on LinkedIn, in my blog, and as part of the Shaping Agility collective.
- Co-authoring "From Friction to Flow" with Gareth Evans guiding technology leaders along the journey growing new product value streams and using them to grow a broad range of organizational capabilities
My purpose: Why I care
I believe removing stress from the workplace makes the world a better place.
A low-stress, coherent workplace leaves people with energy and emotion available for their lives outside the workplace. I believe people will use this energy in their families, communities, and passion projects in ways I could never imagine, and through their contributions the planet we all share will become a better place to live, work, and flourish.
This vision started in the early 00's as "Help everybody on a project sleep better at night" and has driven my career decisions since then. These days I have the privilege of devoting the majority of my time and energy in support of leaders whose passion, learning, and decisions can change the lives of hundreds or thousands of people at a time.
